The holy falafel grail... Guy Eshel immigrated from Israel to Boston at a very young age, but remained a diehard falafel lover through his childhood.

The 200-300 block of Kearny Street is abuzz with weekday dining options, and another is just around the corner: Sababa Hot Pita Bar is opening possibly within three weeks, bringing with it Israeli street food with an impressive pedigree. 

Sababa, the fast casual Mediterranean concept from Mercer Restaurant Group (Bon Marché, AQ), has secured a Financial District space for their first location. The concept will take over the former Paladar Cafe Cubano space, offering a quick, healthy dining option based on the fresh flavors of Israeli food.

Sababa is an expression that means "it's good" in Hebrew, and the falafel sandwiches here most certainly are. The warm pita is loaded with onion, cabbage, cucumber, pickles, tomato, tahini and falafel.

Any falafel is a good falafel, that's our conclusion. You'll need to stay hyped during the shows so grab a slushie coffee on top of that.
